Community Rules
ONETO connects people across borders to do real work and share real business information. That only works well when people participate thoughtfully — with honesty, respect, and professionalism, including when working with someone in a different country, language, or business culture. This page describes how to participate well on ONETO. For the specific list of conduct that is not allowed, see Prohibited Activities.
Participate Honestly
Be who you say you are, and use ONETO for genuine purposes — a real Task you need done, real business information you want to share or find, or a real professional connection. Don't create accounts, profiles, Signals, or comments designed to mislead others about who you are, what you represent, or why you're engaging with them.
Communicate Respectfully
Whether publishing a Signal, commenting, messaging, or working through a Task together, keep communication professional, on-topic, and civil — including when you disagree. Discriminatory, demeaning, or hostile language toward another user has no place on ONETO.
Disagree with a claim, a piece of evidence, or a decision without attacking the person who made it.
Keep Profiles and Representation Accurate
Profile information — location, languages, specializations, service regions, availability, and organization affiliation — should reflect who you actually are and what you can genuinely do, and should be corrected promptly when it changes. A self-declared specialization or region is a starting point for someone else's judgment, not a guarantee; it is not the same as a reviewed professional Capability, and should not be presented as one.
Platform review ≠ certification.
Use Messaging Responsibly
Direct messages exist to support genuine platform-related communication, including Tasks, Signal, and professional connections. Use them for the purpose you stated when reaching out, and don't send unsolicited bulk messages or use messaging to pressure, intimidate, or recruit people deceptively. A contact request should state a genuine purpose; if someone doesn't respond or declines to engage, respect that.
Share Information Responsibly
When publishing a Signal or commenting on one, share what you reasonably believe to be accurate, be clear about what is observation versus opinion or inference, and credit sources appropriately. Think about the real people and businesses your information describes, and the impact it could have on them, before you publish.
Professional Conduct
When executing a Task
Communicate proactively about progress, blockers, or delays instead of going quiet.
When reviewing a Task
Give clear, specific, good-faith feedback tied to the agreed Work Order rather than vague dissatisfaction.
Treat the other party's time, constraints, and working hours with consideration.
Reputation and Endorsements
Don't fabricate, buy, trade, or coordinate fake engagement — comments, follows, or claims of support — to make yourself or someone else look more credible than your actual record supports. Don't use Signal interactions to artificially manufacture the appearance of agreement with or corroboration of a claim.
Let your real activity and published work speak for itself, rather than manufacturing signals that aren't real.
Disagreements and Conflicts
Most disagreements — over scope, evidence, quality, or a Task decision — are best worked through directly and professionally, using the Work Order and evidence as the shared reference point. Keep disagreement specific and constructive. Don't turn a professional disagreement into harassment, public shaming, or retaliation against the other party. Cross-Border Participation
ONETO connects people across different countries, languages, and business norms.
What reads as direct or informal in one culture may read as brusque or overly familiar in another — allow for that, and ask for clarification rather than assuming bad intent.
Be patient with language differences, including automatically translated content, which may not perfectly capture nuance.
Respect local laws, customs, and public holidays relevant to the person you're working with.
Reporting and Community Safety
If you experience or witness conduct that concerns you, in-product reporting today covers Signal content and Signal comments — see Reports & Appeals for the current scope and boundaries. For situations that aren't yet covered by in-product reporting, use available account or contact channels. ONETO does not automatically catch every problem; treating others well is a responsibility every participant shares, not something ONETO's tools alone can guarantee.
What ONETO Does and Does Not Represent
Participating on ONETO — publishing a Signal, completing a Task, maintaining a profile, or being part of the Global Network — does not make a user an ONETO employee, agent, or representative, and does not mean ONETO has certified, endorsed, or vouched for that user. ONETO provides the platform, structure, and records; it does not act on a user's behalf, and a user's actions and statements are their own, not ONETO's.
